(WWNY) – The National Weather Service has issued severe thunderstorm warnings and watches for much of the state, including Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties.
Southwestern Jefferson County and all of Lewis County are under a severe thunderstorm warning until 3 p.m.
A watch for other Lawrence County and much of eastern New York expires at 8 p.m.
Severe thunderstorms could be accompanied by damaging wind gusts, heavy downpours, and hail. Scattered gusts could reach 70 mph and hail as large as 1.5 inches is possible in isolated areas.
