3 dead, 2 injured in early Saturday morning crash

GOUVERNEUR, New York (WWNY) – Three people were killed in a one-car crash in St Lawrence County, according to county emergency officials.

It happened at 4:40am Saturday on Chub Lake Road near Gouverneur.

According to New York State Police, an investigator determined a 2017 Nissan Rogue was heading eastbound when it went off the shoulder, struck a guardrail and overturned. The car came to rest on it’s roof in a stream.

The driver, Jackie J. Henry, 34, of Richville, and a passenger Lorraine E. Stevens, 25, of Hermon were transported to Gouverneur Hospital where they both died. Desiree N. Lowery, 32, of Potsdam was pronounced dead on scene.

Passenger Mark Hubbard, 33, of Rochester was taken to Upstate University Hospital for treatment. And 13-year-old Joy R. Henry of Richville was transported to Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he was treated and released.

State Police are still investigating.
