LOWVILLE, New York (WWNY) – A wellness fair held in Lowville on Wednesday was working to get community resources to the people who need them.
More than a dozen groups, such as Lewis County Opportunities, which helps low-income families, the Office for the Aging, and Social Services were at the Valley View Court apartments.
Public Health was also there, offering flu and COVID vaccines.
Property manager Rhonda Noftsier says bringing these groups directly to residents is a huge help.
“There’s so many community resources that our tenants here don’t have the opportunity or ability sometimes to get to where they’re at,” Noftsier said.
Noftsier says more residents showed up than she anticipated. She says they may hold more events like this going forward.
