HARRISVILLE, New York (WWNY) – It was a big Sunday celebration for a congregation in Harrisville, marking 150 years of spreading the gospel.
Members of Harrisville Christian Church held a special service Sunday morning to commemorate the milestone.
Church goers shared memories and looked through old church artifacts.
Some who attended the church most of their lives told stories of how the church has transformed over the years.
The church’s pastor says it has become a generational venue for many families who worship here.
“This becomes our home, this becomes who we are and establishes part of our family and stuff. And it’s so neat to be able to have that history,” said Mike Gault, Pastor of Harrisville Christian Church.
The church was built and established in 1873 and local parishioners hope it continues to serve as a gathering place for many years to come.
