(WWNY) – Three state volleyball games were held at Massena, along with a men’s college basketball matchup between St. Lawrence and SUNY Potsdam and women’s college hockey from Clarkson’s Cheel Arena.

New York State girls’ volleyball playoffs:

– In Class A, Section X’s Indian River fell to Section III’s Jamesville-Dewitt 3 sets to 1 by scores of 19-25, 25-23, 19-25, and 20-25. For the Warriors, the loss was their first of the season, finishing with a record of 20-1.

– In Class B, Section III’s Westhill swept Section X Ogdensburg 3-0. The Warriors dominated the Blue Devils 25-5, 25-14, and 25-11. OFA closed out its season at 13-9.

– In Class C, Section X Canton swept Section VII’s Saranac Lake 3 sets to 1 by scores of 25-14, 25-23, and 25-22. The Golden Bears are the only Section X team to advance to the Elite Eight on Saturday vs. the winner of Section II at Lake George High School at noon.

SUNY Potsdam hosted St. Lawrence in a men’s college basketball season opener.

– SUNY Potsdam’s Shaheed Alcide dishes to Parker Kelly for the turnaround jumper for 2. SLU leads 5-3.

– The Saints’ Adam Dudzinski slashes to the paint for 2.

– SLU on the break. From the corner, Gavin Macaulay buries the 3. It’s the Saints by 5.

– Carter Storey from the Land of Threes, ups the lead to 8.

– Jeff Williamson to Kelly for the 12-footer.

– Kawar Singh with the hard move to the rack for 2.

– Aidan Mccauley crashes the hoop for 2.

The Saints went on to beat SUNY Potsdam 87-53.

Number-five-ranked Clarkson hosted number six St. Lawrence while more than 2,200 K-8 students from St. Lawrence and Franklin counties watched.

– Midway in the first period, Dominique Petrie jams the loose puck in the net. It’s 1-0 Clarkson.

– Three minutes later, Aly McLeod pokes the loose puck in for the Saints. The game is tied 1-1.

– Nicole Gosling’s wrister in the slot finds mesh. Clarkson regains the lead 2-1.

– After a Clarkson score is wiped on goalie interference, SLU’s Kennedy Wilson lights the lamp. It’s 2-2.

– Short-handed, Sena Catterall collects the pass, waits and pulls the trigger, putting Clarkson back in front 3-2.

– Shot from the right point, Brooke McQuigg dump in the rebound on the power play. It’s 4-2 Clarkson.

– But its not over. Saints’ on the power play: Taylor Lum tucks in the loose puck. It’s 4-3 Knights.

– From the slot, Darcy Lappan notches Clarkson’s fifth goal with just 2:02 remaining.

– Dominique Petrie seals the win with an open-netter.

Clarkson won 6-3 in front of 3,223 fans, an all-time record at Cheel Arena for a women’s hockey game.

The Knights stay unbeaten at 12-0-1 and SLU falls to 10-2.
