A long stretch of Interstate 80 in Northern California and several ski resorts remain closed Saturday due to gusty winds and snow. Tens of thousands of homes are without power in California and Nevada.
The National Weather Service has issued a blizzard warning through Sunday for a 300-mile stretch of the mountain range in both states.
Authorities are urging people to take shelter and stay off roads, and meteorologists predict more than 10 feet of snow will fall at higher elevations.
