2024 Paris Olympics: What to watch on Day 2

The second full day of the 2024 Paris Olympic Games is here.Following Friday’s Opening Ceremony and Saturday’s competitions, there are several medal matches and high-profile rivalries on Sunday’s schedule.  There are a total of 8 medal events on the second full day of competition.Here’s what’s happening today:Artistic gymnasticsEarly Sunday morning, gymnastics sensation Simone Biles led Team USA to a successful showing in the Olympic qualifiers for the individual and all-around competition despite an injury. Suni Lee and Jordan Chiles had notable performances as well.The qualifying competition is still happening now, with gymnasts from numerous countries competing for spots, and will end around 11 a.m. ET.SkateboardingA gold medal is up for grabs in the women’s street skateboarding final on Sunday morning, where Team USA’s Paige Heyn is a favorite for a medal. The final is set for 11 a.m. ET.Swimming Competitions for medals will take place in the men’s individual medley and the women’s 100-meter butterfly. The men’s race is at 2:30 p.m. ET and the women’s race is at 2:45 p.m. ET. Team USA’s Carson Foster is a leader in the men’s event and teammate Torri Huske is projected to shine in the women’s race.The men’s breaststroke final is also set for 3:54 p.m. ET — keep your eyes peeled for star Adam Peaty of Great Britain.SoccerThe United States women’s soccer team will face off against Germany at 3 p.m. ET in what is expected to be an exciting match-up. Captain Linsdey Horan along with stars Sophia Smith and Trinity Rodman are in the lineup for the game.
