Vermont police arrest New Hampshire fugitive wanted for several counts of sexual assault
Police said the subject had an extraditable warrant from Claremont for at least a dozen counts of aggravated sexual assault
A New Hampshire man who is wanted for several sexual assault charges has been arrested in Vermont. Vermont State Police arrested Lance Simons, 55, on Thursday as a fugitive from justice. Police said Simons has an extraditable warrant out of Claremont, New Hampshire, for 12 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and six counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault pattern, as well as charges for attempted aggravated sexual assault. Simons was arrested on Gore Road in the town of Morgan, Vermont, which is roughly 124 miles from Claremont. He’s being held at Northern State Correctional Facility on $50,000 bail. He’s scheduled to appear in court on Friday at 12:30 p.m. in Orleans County.
