Moriah High School boys’ basketball senior guard Cooper Allen is the latest to reach 1,000 career points. He reached the mark after a 34-point performance in a recent 69-48 win for Moriah against Northeastern Clinton Central High School. Allen has helped the Vikings jump out to a 5-0 undefeated start in Champlain Valley Athletic Conference play and is one of the key returning starters who was a part of Moriah’s return to the New York state final four. The last Section VII basketball player to reach 1,000 career points was Beekmantown’s Payton Parliament, who met the mark in a New York state regional semifinal matchup against Franklin Academy High School. The last Moriah High School player to reach 1,000 career points was Bryce Sprague, who hit the milestone in 2022.
