As of the latest hour, unofficial results for various key races have started to emerge. In the County Clerk’s race in Clinton County, it appears that the Republican incumbent, John Zurlo, has secured victory over the Democratic challenger, Brandi Lloyd. In the Family Court Judge’s race, Democrat Amy Assadourian Senecal has taken the lead, surpassing the Republican candidate, Hillary Rogers, with over 7,000 votes. Senecal is poised to win this race. David Monette seems to be on track to defeat Barrie Finnegan for the Ward 6 Common Council seat in the City of Plattsburgh. The Clerk’s race in Essex County remains highly competitive. The Republican candidate, Merrihew, has received over 1,200 votes, while Dezalia, the Democratic candidate, has gathered over 1,100 votes. In the Mayor’s race in the Village of Malone, incumbent Andrea Dumas holds the lead with 571 votes, while her challenger, Mary Scharf, has 340 votes. The Northern New York region is also deciding on a new State Supreme Court Justice. The race is between Democrat Carl Falotico and Republican Paul Davenport. Vote counting is still in progress in various Northern New York counties. Voters across the state of New York also passed two proposed amendments to the state’s constitution.
