Middlebury College celebrated the class of 2026 on Sunday during its 225th commencement. More than 550 students received their degrees, representing 45 states and more than 20 countries. A procession through campus was led by bagpipers. The ceremony was the first for President Ian Baucom. Author and science fiction writer Kim Stanley Robinson delivered the commencement address, encouraging graduates to face global challenges with optimism and teamwork.Middlebury also awarded honorary degrees to several leaders in education, medicine and journalism.
